Bob and Schelle

Project Overview
Bob and Schelle are a retired couple, who love there gardening. The project was to create a space which was clean and open, to supply two raised vegie gardens and a space for fruit trees. Plus a paved area and seat for family gatherings around a fire pit.
My Contributions
Schelle had some very creative ideas for what she was after. We went over the area and designed the space to accommodate fruit trees and raised vegie beds. Machinery was brought in to excavate site and remove grass and vegetation. Then road base brought in and compacted to give a firm base for the decomposed granite. The raised beds were placed on site and filled with organic composted soil's. A low Versawall block retaining wall was built to level yard and create a raised garden around patio area. A curved pathway was introduced to soften all the harsher strait lines and create flow. The lawn chosen was "Sir Walter" buffalo, the paved space was small in area, so I decided to create a feature of the area using two different types of pavers and different colours, the colours picked up the colour from the house as well as the colour of the decomposed granite.
