Project Overview

Gavin and Sally's job was very challenging and required a lot of idea's from both myself and Gavin and Sally. We had to decide on required materials, access for machinery from neighbouring properties, future pool area and decking, lighting, fencing, and everything in between.

My Contributions

This was a big job and required a lot of organisation of machinery and materials. I employed some muscle to help out on this job as well as Gavin's muscle to lift materials into place. The ground in Buderim is littered with rock making it challenging to dig footings. We approached the front yard first cutting the bank and building walls and steps. The rear of the house (exactly 100 steps from the footpath) was very challenging carting heavy hardwood sleepers, post, cement, blend, decking and more to the back to build more retaining walls and fencing. Once to pool builders had achieved their pool shell we were into it again to build a timber deck around the pool, everything was built so when Gavin, Sally and kids walked out from the back door it was all on one level (no more up and down a series of steps). Gav and Sal had some amazing ideas and I implemented them into the design and build, which created amazing flat areas on an extremely steep sloped block, room for the kids to run and play ball sports, entertaining with friends and a more fluid movement from front to back.
